Reiki

an energy healing practice, originating in Japan, Reiki focuses on promoting balance, relaxation, and well-being. The word Reiki (霊気) combines two Japanese words:

  • Rei (霊) → “universal” or “spiritual”

  • Ki (気) → “life energy” (similar to Qi in Chinese or Prana in Sanskrit)

Reiki is a gentle, intuitive practice that channels universal life force energy to support healing on every level—body, mind, and spirit. Through light touch or hovering hands, it invites deep relaxation, softens tension, and helps release the energetic blocks that can lead to imbalance or illness. Often experienced as calming and restorative, Reiki can ease pain, quiet anxiety, improve sleep, and support emotional or spiritual healing. While it doesn’t replace medical care, it offers a soothing companion on the path to wholeness.

Even at a distance, Reiki remains just as effective—energy is not limited by space, allowing healing to be shared from afar with the same depth and intention.

As a Reiki Master trained in the Usui tradition (Level III), I offer three ways to receive this gentle healing—each one tuned to the level of connection and presence you’re seeking.

Quiet Reiki is a fully remote session held in silence, allowing you to receive deeply without words.

Reiki Whisper is a 25-minute phone session—a brief but meaningful moment of healing and connection.

The Full Reiki Experience offers a spacious 60-minute session guided by voice and energy, with time to share before and after.

No matter the format, Reiki meets you where you are—supporting balance, ease, and your own natural capacity to heal.

my pilgrimage to Mt. Kurama, the birthplace of Reiki.

Mt. Kurama rises sharply from the rural countryside just north of Kyoto, Japan. At its summit lie the sacred sites where Dr. Mikao Usui is said to have first received the gift of Reiki. As a Reiki Master in the Usui tradition, I am honored to trace my lineage thirteen generations back to Master Usui himself. In Reiki, each practitioner is attuned by their teacher, and maintaining a record of one’s lineage is both a tradition and a touchstone—an energetic thread that connects us across time.

In 2024, I journeyed to Mt. Kurama with my partner while traveling through Japan. This pilgrimage was one of the most magical and memorable days of my life. The energy of the mountain was unmistakable—alive, electric, reverent. The hike began in a quiet village and carried us over forested paths, sacred temples, and winding trails, most memorably to the twisted root path that Dr. Usui spoke at length about in his story and writings. Eventually our path led us down the other side of the mountain into an entirely different town. The day was hot and golden, until we reached the summit—above the clouds—where we were suddenly caught in a hailstorm. It felt like a blessing, a cleansing, a cosmic surprise.

To stand in the place where Reiki first emerged was nothing short of awe-inspiring—a moment etched into my heart and spirit forever.
